Happy Friday! This is newhope‘s Ryan Norman sharing a recent review of Preaching to Connect Truth to Life!

Dr. Benji W. Kelley is a gifted communicator that has developed the ability to reach multiple generations of people due to his unique communication style.  This book, Preaching to Connect Truth to Life, explains the issues involved in trying to preach truth to a society filled with people that hear and learn in different ways and helps the reader learn to communicate in the style that will have the biggest impact on the listener.  Dr. Kelley’s secrets to effective preaching and reaching the current generations with the truth of Scripture are revealed in this book.  I highly recommend it.”

That was from Dr. Craig Dunn, CEO , Wesleyan Investment Foundation.

Feedback from the West Coast

Good Afternoon from newhope‘s Ryan Norman! I’m stopping by this Friday with news from newhope fans on the Pacific Coast and their feedback after reading Preaching to Connect Truth to Life!

From the Pacific Southwest District of the Wesleyan Church, District Superintendent Dr. Steve Babby said:

“ Benji Kelley’s personal journey to develop as a preacher is inspirational and instructive for all pastors.  He outlines well the strength and weaknesses of various styles and then illustrates one style which can be effective in reaching the post-modern world.  This is a book that I will recommend to all of my pastors.”

Also from the Pacific Southwest District of the Wesleyan Church, Director of Church Multiplication and Leadership Development Dr. Phil Stevenson shared:

“Benji Kelly does an excellent job of connecting the historical moorings of preaching to the present challenge of contextualizing the gospel in the 21st Century. His emphasis on the narrative as a common thread to compliment other preaching styles provides a strong framework for effective communication. Any pastor or student desiring a foundation for their preaching will gain signficant value from reading this book.”

Benji’s Book Debuts in Kentucky!

Happy Friday to all, once again! This is newhope‘s Ryan Norman guest blogging on today to share with you just some of what’s been going on with Preaching to Connect Truth to Life since its release!

Check out this interview with Benji from the Wesleyan General Conference 2012!

Pastor and Author  Dale Galloway, also the Founder of the Beeson Institute for Church Leadership, shared the following after reading Preaching to Connect Truth to Life:

“Finally, a book on preaching that offers both a solid historical analysis of the homiletical landscape, while at the same time guiding preachers in proclaiming a fresh Word in the Twenty-first century! Preaching to Connect Truth to Life is a balanced, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful guide to faithfully preaching the Gospel message of Jesus. Having had the privilege of teaching Dr. Benji Kelley in his doctoral studies in the Beeson Pastor Program at Asbury Theological Seminary, and having heard him preach God’s Word on numerous occasions, I can easily and whole-heartedly endorse this work without reservation. Buy it, read it, and apply it – you will not be disappointed!”
